Telepathic manipulation is a large part of telepathy. I didn't state that it was just "mind to mind" communication, because I thought you wanted someone who would be capable of functioning cerebro, and somewhat defend themselve telepathically. I didn't make her a trained killer, or have super strength, I purposefully made her with telepathy and sensory overloading abilities, which in themselves, are technically telepathic manipulations. I'm not entirely sure what the issue is here, do you not trust me?

We've had cases with people who could affect other people's perception but it was always clearly stated on top of whatever telepathy they might possess. (Those characters were, for the most part, turned down unless they accepted a specific clause allowing other players to decide wether their characters are affected).

It might be why we overlooked it and we apologize for that, we should've brought it up with Evolution before he started playing her, but we assumed it was regular communication telepathy with some specific attacks on top. (we probably should not have assumed). We of course trust evol to play it but we've already said no to the mind manipulation power to a bunch of people and it would not be fair to them.

2014-05-15 [Figgy]: There ARE also different types of telepaths. Mastermind is a great example, able to manipulate the things people see through their mind. And Camille, who was part of the RP a while back, was, according to this article, a telepathic cloak. It's really not all-inclusive.

I am sorry that I did not include the "manipulation" aspect in the bio, I thought the fact I did not state a limitation to the telepathy part would be an indication. Different views on the topic lead to different assumptions.

What you take into account is the player. Do you feel they can be trusted to not power play? You requested someone who can use cerebro, someone who is no doubt powerful enough to use it, and I attempted to supply that person. By then saying that person is too powerful a telepath, you create a void between what you want and how much power the player is being given. If you are worried about giving the player enough power to actually fulfil your request... well, I don't know, that seems like an issue I cannot comment on. I will say however, there are many powerful people in the mansion. Reality manipulators and people who can completely negate others powers, these characters are regarded as completely fine because they are trusted not to devastate the larger student body. Often. Again, it comes down to the trust placed in the player. So I guess it again comes down to, do you trust me enough to fulfil the role you asked for, or should I erase my character?

In the past, we have had terrible players in this RP who abused and manipulated their powers to great lengths, and because of this, we have made new rules. It's just like running a business: your employees can't stay off their phones? ban phones. We make rules to keep ALL players happy. The fact that we didn't confirm what it was you meant with telepathy on Brunelda's profile is our fault. However, we've offered alternatives, and you seem absolutely convinced that we just don't want you to be able to play these powers. It's not about whether she is strong enough to use Cerebro. The RP is not going to function with that much detail. Hell, the Danger Room is going to become something that is never was in the comics or shows, so why can't Cerebro be any different?

Now, we've fully explained our thought processes and EVEN offered you to keep the power AS LONG AS you let the other players decide whether their character is affected, AS WITH ALL POWERS. If this doesn't appease you then I'm really not sure what to do, Evo.

2014-05-15 [Flisky]: Can I make a friendly suggestion to the GMs? If a situation is being discussed, leave it to a single GM to discuss it and then in turn discuss it with the other so both aren't jumping at the player and creating more drama than necessary. Because we all know Figgs and Dur (both of you) talk and discuss things, I doubt anyone is in fear that a decision is being made and not communicated. But it does feel (especially when it's a single player and TWO GMs) that there is a certain level of 'ganging up on' a player.
